John Palumbo presents What Would Houdini Do?

Welcome to the Man Of Steel holiday newsletter. The only way you would have gotten to this website is because I personally sent you my 2013 seasons greetings and welcoming of the New Year, 2014. As you will see below, 2013 was a very unusual year to say the least.

But even though it started off rocky, as you will see in the videos and newspaper articles below, it gave me time to finish writing my newest book (see below) which will be released in January of 2014 and increase my support and involvement with the Chicago Childrens’ Choir. (see below)

I hope we get a chance to talk and visit more in 2014 and I want to especially thank all of my friends and business associates who took time to send cards, flowers, gift baskets, telephone calls, and personal visits while I was in the hospital for a few months earlier this year. Happy New Year and all the best for 2014.

John

P.S.

If you just stumbled onto this page and did not get a holiday greeting letter from me, then this web page will mean absolutely nothing to you and if you did get a letter from me, it still might not mean much to you either.

January 2013

This news story aired in January of 2013. Even though I was hospitalizd and out of commission, there's always time for the press and a good news story. Can't hold a good man down, especially when the TV cameras show up!

February 2013

The Jacksonville author and speaker began the new year in the exotic, historic city of Marrakech, Morocco.

He was about halfway through his planned 10-day stay there when, as he left a restaurant to hail a cab near a large open market, a pickpocket made off with his passport and iPhone.

Night On The Town

My first night out of the assisted living facility for a couple of hours. I am forever grateful for Heidi Gillespie and her love and support during my fantastic journey. And a special thanks to Claudina Gonzalez who came up from Mexico to see me.

March 2013

I'm now living at Cypress Village Assisted Living Facility in Jacksonville, Florida. I want to introduce you to my new friends, advisors, and mentors. These people made the road to recovery part of a fantastic journey.

Nobody ever imagines having to live in a nursing home for a few months, but then again, who would ever imagine having both shoulders shattered and replaced with titanium and not having the use of both of your arms at the same time either. Yes, they had to feed me, bathe me, and I'm going to let you use your imagination for the rest.

And a special tribute to my good friend

Evangelos Spertantsas

April 2013

Recovery and therapy after a few months in the hospital and the assisted living facility, I'm ready to speed up the healing and get back to the real world.

This was my therapy team at Cypress Village. I can't say enough about how fantastic they all were during my recovery and a special thanks to the cute one...Oh my, they're all cute...How lucky can a guy get? They almost made me not want to leave!

The love of my life...

After spending a few months in the hospital and my daughter just graduating from the University of Alabama...ROLL TIDE! I figured it was time for Morgan and I to spend a little father/daughter time together at one of our favorite restaurants in Mexico.

September 2013

I finally returned to Marrakech, Morocco where I started the year. It's a wonderful country and I love the city of Marrakech and all of its' sights, sounds, food, and most of all, the people.

November 2013

This year's journey has been a wild ride. All I can say is that if you don't buy travel medical insurance the next time you head out the door, you would have to be crazy after reading this year's story. I purchased my insurance through American Express and highly recommend it for anyone whether you're going 100 miles or 5,000 miles away from home. There's a reason American Express commercials always say;

"Don't leave home without it."
